Annie Leibovitz: 1. She has worked with famous figures in music like John Lennon, Keith Richards, and Mick Jagger by photographing them. 2. Her most famous work was from January 1981- a portrait of Lennon and Yoko Ono published on the cover of Rolling Stone. 3. This photo, beyond its immediate shock factor in seeing John Lennon cradled nude around Ono, has historical signifigance because it was shot just mere hours before Lennon was assassinated. The photo is asymmetric, with Ono being centered but Lennon off to the right side. Gordon Parks: 1. He achieved widespread acclaim and respect for capturing iconic photos of prominent figures in the struggle for civil rights and in turn raising awareness and traction for the movement. He was also a tireless advocate of social justice outside of photography. 2.
