Advertising Photography

1. What do you like about your image?

I like how I included the silver and gold backgrounds, which contrast nicely with the color of the book, and also creates an aesthetic reflection in the mirrors I placed below the book.

2. What would you have done differently in your process that would have changed the outcome of the image?

Next time, I would want to be more conscientious with how I framed the photo, because in a 5x7 ratio, it was slightly tight to fit the New York Times Logo underneath the book, and I was forced to put my tagline on the left and right of my book. In the future, using a 7x5 ratio may create a more appealing ad.

3. What photoshop techniques did you use?

In photoshop, I used the cropping tool and the camera raw filter to make the silver and gold pop.

4. What font did you use?

I used Adobe Garamond for "The New York Times", and Georgia for the tagline.

5.  Why did you chose that font?

I chose Adobe Garamond because this was the font used in the actual New York Times, and I used Georgia because its personally my favorite font and I believe that it looks appropriate in this context.
