Light Bulb Assignment

Why did you choose the extra element you chose? I chose a tiger because I thought of Life of Pi, and I was inspired by the idea of a tiger in the water.

Cinemagraph: Still photographs where a portion of the photo has some minor and repeated movement, like the branches of a palm tree swaying in the breeze.

Bringing Action to Life

Image
What is your favorite part of this image? My favorite part is the frame where I'm jumping midair off the ledge, because the pose looks neat with one of my legs extended and the other bent back. What was the most difficult part of this process? The most difficult part of the process was erasing the right areas with the brush through all the layers, because I kept having to go back to erase parts that I missed. What was the easiest part of this process? The easiest part was probably the photography itself, because all I was tasked with was running up and hopping off a small ledge.

Water Photo Project

Station 1: Photograph a Water Droplet with Flash F-Stop: F/5.6, Shutter Speed: 1/200 sec 1.Was it easy to get a good shot? Why/why not? (2pts)  Because the shutter speed was capped, it was rather difficult to acquire a good shot, because the timing now mattered more.  2. What did you like/not like about shooting water with the flash? (2pts) I liked the light exposure we got on the photo, but didn't like the difficulty of getting a good shot with the capped shutter speed. Station 2: Photograph a Colored Water Droplet without Flash using colored paper reflection F-Stop: F/5.6, Shutter Speed: 1/320 sec 1. Was it easy to get a good shot? Why/why not? (2pts)  Since this was the first station we did, there was a bit of a learning curve getting the hang of taking shots.  2. What did you like/not like about shooting water without the flash? (2 pts) I liked how the purple and pink colored papers created cool reflections on the water. Station 3: Shoot colored water drops...

Frozen Motion

Which is your best image and why? In my opinion,  my best image is the first one, where I'm doing a Spiderman style hop over a rail. I think the timing of the pose and the overall aesthetic fits appropriately. Which is your least successful image and why? My least successful image is most likely the last one, because although it was a good shot in theory, the framing of it in practice was less than ideal. What is one thing you could have done better? I think that including the entire individual in the shot would've improved the picture, because for the 3rd photo I was forced to further crop out my head to make the photo work, and for the 4th I was unable to do anything about my feet being out of frame. What would be your ideal action photography subject and why? My ideal photography subject would be a car, because although they move fast their velocity isn't that volatile and would be predictable to take shots of.
