• What is the image about?

The image is displaying the raw beauty of a an active volcano.

• What do you like about the image?

The image is simply astounding, to the point where I questioned if it was even real. I've never seen lightning strike an active volcano, and imagine it is exceedingly rare to capture.

• List at least one element of art and one principle of design used in the image.

One element of art used is color; a contrast between the blue lightning and the molten red lava. A principle of design used is emphasis, where the center where the collision between lightning and the mountain is occurring, and the rest of the image is comparatively less emphasized.

• List one interesting fact you discovered about the photographer.

Miyatake has been trying to capture mysterious lights of landscapes like volcanoes and fireflies for over 3 decades.

• What is the image about?

This image is showing a typical retro city sidewalk, with fences and a building. It is a very realistic depiction of the city.

• What do you like about the image?

I like how familiar it feels. It seems entirely feasible that I've been to this place before, but something about it feels untouchable.

• List at least one element of art and one principle of design used in the image.

Shape is one element of art utilized, with the circular logo of the Friedman Occupational Center and the varying shapes and angles of the fences and traffic light. One principle of design is rule of thirds, because the pole on the right is situated right where the line would go to divide the photo into thirds.

• List one interesting fact you discovered about the photographer.

Bouldin was the lead photographer for the Netflix animation series, "City of Ghosts".

• What is the image about?

This image is showing a lone plane flying low over a dormant volcano.

• What do you like about the image?

I think that the timing of the photo and the angle is stunning. It is not easy to get the right angle and opportunity for an image like this.

• List at least one element of art and one principle of design used in the image.

One element of art is texture. You can see the heterogenous texture of the slopes of the dormant volcano. One principle of design is movement. Despite the plane presumably moving at a fast rate, it appears static in the photo.

• List one interesting fact you discovered about the photographer.
